Area Information

The Canadian Rockies International Airport is located in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia. Our region is home to pristine rivers, lakes, waterfalls, beaches, mineral hot springs, alpine meadows, and snow-capped mountains.

During the winter, the Kootenay Rockies offers some of the continent's finest powder skiing and snowboarding, along with great expanses of groomed cross-country trails. In the summer, our region is one of Canada's preeminent destinations for golfing and mountain biking, as well as watersports like fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, and whitewater rafting.
